“Anyone that has gone through an incredible experience in life can relate to these words. Cancer is not just a diagnosis, it’s a journey, an odyssey, an experience in itself. My rendezvous with cancer besides many other things taught me that however dark the night is, there will be light at the end, All you need is resilience and perseverance. Just like everyone else, growing up I never thought how important my hair, my nose or anything that was attached to my body or I was born with, was to me until cancer took some of it and yes my hair too while fighting it. At first I refused to step outside or meet people, in an effort to hide my insufficiency but soon realized that hiding myself and not facing anyone was not the greatest option. My self esteem was getting brutally affected as a result of my imperfection (or at least that’s what I called it). So I had to do something about it. I started to look around for the options to see what could or would help. For hair the best option was to find a good wig….but boy o boy nothing I found could be listed as ‘Good’ as pretty much all of them were so itchy and uncomfortable due the scalp hypersensitivity. During this time, I learned about Verma foundation through a friend and social worker who didn’t know much about the organization other than, that I could request a free wig. I decided to do some research on the name and quickly learned that they don’t just offer a wig at absolutely no cost (yes shipping is free too!) but also provide one that is made of real human hair and a very high quality soft and silky cap material. The cap on the inside feels so soft that I’m able to wear it for hours without having to deal with itchiness or discomfort. Not just that the entire process from submitting a request to receiving the cap wig was seamless and on top of that everytime I sent an email to Verma Foundation, I received a sweet and encouraging note from Natasha Verma, the founder of Verma foundation.Natasha Verma who herself has battled through the cancer at such a young age is full of inspiration, admiration and positivity. I found it very uplifting to learn how bravely Ms.Verma fought her cancer and used her story of survivorship to help others going through the similar experience and is poised to bring about light in their lives with her smile and this incredible yet priceless gift of cap wigs. It surely is a game changer for many as ‘Bold is beautiful’ but Bald….may be not! So all I’ll say, while going through this journey, so many would tell you, “let me know if I can help”, Natasha Verma and her organization don’t just say it, they do offer a helping hand to uplift your spirit and confidence. Thank you Verma Foundation!”
